NEET UG Counselling 2025: MCC Set to Begin Registration for All India Quota, State Merit Lists and Cut-Offs Released

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is getting ready to start NEET UG 2025 counselling for MBBS, BDS, and other medical courses. This year, more than 12.36 lakh students have qualified for NEET UG, so the competition for medical seats is very high. MCC will soon open the registration link on its official website mcc.nic.in. The counselling will be for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, and also for seats in central universities, deemed universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, and other colleges that take part in the counselling process.

Who Can Participate?

  • Eligibility: Only students who have qualified NEET UG 2025 can take part in the MCC counselling for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, deemed universities, central universities, AIIMS, and JIPMER.

  • State Quota: The remaining 85% of government college seats are filled through state counselling done by each state's counselling authority. These state authorities have also started releasing their merit lists and cut-off marks for admission.

Counselling Process: Step-by-Step

1. Online Registration: Students must register on the MCC website by entering their NEET roll number, application number and personal details.

2. Fee Payment: Pay the non refundable counselling fee and a refundable security deposit based on your category and type of institution (government or private).

3. Choice Filling and Locking: Choose your preferred colleges and courses. You can change your choices before the final date. Don’t forget to lock your choices.

4. Seat Allotment: Seats will be given based on your NEET rank, category, college choices, and availability. MCC will release seat allotment results for each round.

5. Reporting: If you get a seat you must go to the allotted college for document verification and to complete the admission process.

State-specific admission cut-offs for government colleges are higher and vary based on the number of applicants, seat availability, and reservation policies. For example, in Andhra Pradesh, the minimum marks required for general category candidates is 539, while in Assam, it is 688.
