The Madhya Pradesh High Court has postponed the hearing on the NEET UG 2025 result case to 29 May 2025. The problem started when students faced severe disruptions due to power failures at multiple exam centres in Indore and Ujjain on 4 May 2025. The affected students have wanted the court to allow for re-examination, looking at the unfair conditions that hampered their performance.

During the previous hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that a special committee would be formed to investigate issues received from 24 exam centres in Indore. The National Testing Agency (NTA) also added that disruptions occurred at 18 centres in Indore and 6 in Ujjain, impacting over 2,000 students. Students and parents complained that the power outages, which in some centres lasted up to two hours, significantly impacted their capacity to finish writing the exam. Some accounts claim that students were forced to write their papers in candlelight, casting serious doubts on the examination process.

Advocate Mridul Bhatnagar, representing the students, asked for the need for a re-exam or alternative relief measures.
