NEET UG 2025 Result Delayed Due to Madras High Court Stay

NEET UG 2025 Result Delayed Due to Madras High Court Stay

The Madras High Court has temporarily stopped the release of NEET UG 2025 results. This happened because some students faced serious problems/disruptions during the exam at the Avadi exam centre near Chennai. Now, the National Testing Agency (NTA) must respond to the court before the results can be declared. This has made many students across India worried and uncertain about their future.

What Happened During the Exam?

On May 4, 2025, 13 students out of 464 who gave the exam at the Avadi centre filed complaints in court. A power cut from 3:00 PM to 4:15 PM caused poor lighting in the exam hall. There was heavy rain, and water entered the hall as well. As a result of this, students had to move to a different room during the exam. They asked for extra time, but the exam officials did not allow it.

What Did the Court Say?

The case was under the Justice V. Lakshminarayanan. On May 16, 2025, the court gave an interim order saying that NTA cannot declare the NEET UG 2025 results until the court hears more and NTA gives its side. The court has asked the NTA to reply by June 2, 2025

Even though the final results are on hold, the NTA will soon release the provisional answer key for NEET 2025. This will be available on the official website: neet.nta.nic.in. The students can check the answers, and if they find any wrong answers, they can raise objections. To do this, they need to pay INR 200 per question. The NTA will review all objections and release a final answer key after checking the challenges.

Original Result Date Delayed

The NEET UG 2025 results were supposed to come out on June 14, 2025. But now, because of the court’s stay, this date is not confirmed anymore. The final result date will be known only after the court gives further orders. The delay has left many students and parents in a state of suspense, as NEET is the primary entrance exam for undergraduate medical courses in India. The delay in results will affect the admissions and counselling schedules for the students. It will also impact admission timelines and plans.
