The NEET PG result is based on a percentile scoring system not just marks. A percentile score indicates how a candidate has performed compared to others. It shows the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or less than a particular candidate. The formula used to calculate the NEET PG percentile is: Percentile = (Number of candidates who scored less than you / Total number of candidates) × 100

For example, if 90,000 candidates appeared for the exam and 81,000 scored less than you, your percentile would be: (81,000 / 90,000) × 100 = 90 percentile

Tie-Breaking Rule for NEET PG Exam 2025 Result

When two or more candidates score the same marks in the NEET PG exam 2025, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) uses specific tie-breaking rules to determine their All India Rank (AIR). Here’s how it works:

• More Correct Responses: The candidate with a higher number of correct answers in the NEET PG exam will be given a higher rank.

• Fewer Negative Responses: If the tie still exists, the candidate with fewer incorrect answers (negative marking) will get a better rank.
