NEET PG Exam

NEET PG is a national-level entrance exam for students who want to study postgraduate medical courses like MD (Doctor of Medicine), MS (Master of Surgery), and PG Diploma in India. This exam is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). NEET PG exam 2025 was held on 3 August 2025 in a single shift. To appear for NEET PG, a student must have an MBBS degree from a recognized medical college. The exam is held once a year in online mode (computer-based test). The exam includes 200 multiple-choice questions. The subjects are based on what students learn during MBBS, such as Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Medicine, Surgery, etc. The total exam duration is 3.5 hours. Each correct answer gives +4 marks and each wrong answer has a -1 mark penalty. No marks are deducted for unanswered questions.

The NEET PG score is used for admission to medical colleges under:

NEET PG is mandatory for admission to all PG medical seats in India except AIIMS, PGIMER, JIPMER, and NIMHANS, which have separate exams.

    The NEET PG Exam 2025 application process is conducted online through the official NBE website. Given below are the steps to make the process easy and simple for the candidates:

    • Step 1: Visit the official website and register using your name, email ID, and mobile number.

      NEET PG Exam Result 2025

      The NEET PG 2025 result has been decleared on 19 August 2025 on the official websites. The result will be available in the form of a PDF file with the names, roll numbers, scores, and All India Ranks of the qualified candidates.

      Candidates can download their individual scorecards a few days after the result announcement by logging into their account using the application ID and password. The result is valid for the current academic year only and is used for admission to MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses. To qualify, candidates must meet the minimum cutoff percentile (50th percentile for General, 40th for SC/ST/OBC, and 45th for PwD candidates). Only qualified candidates can participate in the counseling process.

      NEET PG Exam Counselling 2025

      After the result is announced, Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts the NEET PG counseling for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, Deemed Universities, Central Universities, and AFMS institutions. The remaining 50% state quota seats are handled by the respective state counseling authorities. The counseling process includes the following steps:

      • Registration on the MCC portal

      • Choice filling and locking of preferred colleges and courses

      • Seat allotment based on rank, preference, and category

      • Reporting to the allotted college and document verification
