NEET Exam 2022: Check Out All the Latest Updates

Important updates on the NEET Exam!
India’s most prestigious medical entrance exam i.e. the NEET exam for the year 2022 will be held on 17th July 2022. This will be a 3 Hour 20 minutes long exam, which is longer than the previous years.
This is one of the few most important updates that the students giving this year’s exam need to know about.
Extra Time in the NTA NEET
The duration of this exam has primarily been increased due to demands by a number of different candidates. As already highlighted above, the NTA NEET this year shall have a total duration of 3 Hours 20 minutes i.e. an “extra time” of 20 minutes.
The major reasoning given by the candidates was that in the exam, though they were given the option of attempting only 180 out of 200 questions, there still wasn’t enough time. This was because even to leave the questions, they had to read them first adn this would take time.
By increasing the duration, students will have enough time to read and understand all the questions as well as make the choice more effectively.

Demands to Postpone NEET UG 2022
A huge number of students and aspirants are demanding for the NTA NEET exam for the year 2022 to be postponed. The main reasons that they cite is that there is quite less time left for the candidates to prepare academically and mentally for this exam. Thus, many have started an online petition on Twitter demanding to #postponeneetug2022.
Students have highlighted that the NEET Counseling 2021 has just ended in March whereas the 2022 exam will be held in July. They have cited that a mere 3 months of time is NOT enough to cover such a vast syllabus as well as revise the same. Moreover, there will also be other important exams held during this time, for instance, the JEE Main, CUCET, the Board Exams (concludes on 15th June), etc.
The All India Medical Students’ Association (AIMSA) has written to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare seeking a postponement/deferment by about 8-10 weeks. Many students had their final exams delayed, and approximately 5000 served as covid warriors during the pandemic and thus, will be ineligible to take the exam as their final exams are delayed.
