NEET Exam 2021 Results Out

Important Update for NEET Exam 2021 Candidates!

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the results for the NEET UG Exam 2021. It has started the distribution of the same to the candidates via email. Thus, students can now check their results on their registered email addresses. The official results shall be uploaded soon on the official website of the NTA i.e. nta.neet.nic.in according to a statement issued by the NTA.

This decision by the NTA to declare the results was taken after the Supreme Court stayed the judgement by the Bombay High Court that called for the delay of results until the fresh examination for 2 candidates were held.

Around 16 lakh candidates registered for the NEET Exam 2021, out of which more than 15 lakh students gave the exam. Originally planned to be held on August 1, 2021, the exam was delayed due to the Covid-19 second wave to September 12, 2021.

What Will the NEET scores include?

The NEET scorecard shall include the overall marks of the students as well as subject-wise marks. Additionally, there shall also be the students’ merit rank, percentile scores, cut-off marks, as well as qualifying status. Candidates will get these marks in the form of a scorecard.

Last year, it was Soyeb Aftab and Akanksha Singh who topped the exam with a 720/720 score and a 99 percentile.

Controversies Associated with NEET 2021

There were 2 main controversies that marred the National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam 2021. The first was the case involving the misplacement of the question papers and answer booklets of 2 candidates. The Bombay High court ordered the NTA to hold the results until the re-exam of both candidates were taken. This decision was later reversed by the Supreme Court.

Secondly, in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, the police arrested several groups who had reportedly taken the support of the exam staff and others to leak answers to the candidates. Thus, many medical aspirants moved the Supreme Court to nullify this exam and hold re-exam in a fair and transparent manner.

However, the Supreme Court refused to cancel the exam based on some mere FIRs.

The official results are expected to be uploaded soon on the NTA website nta.neet.nic.in as well as on ntaresults.nic.in or nta.ac.in.
