NEET 2025 Exam Analysis: Paper Difficulty, Subject Wise Review, and Student Reactions

The NEET 2025 (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) was successfully held on May 4, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM across India. The exam was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for students seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other medical courses in India. More than 20 lakh students appeared for the exam, making it one of the largest entrance exams in the country. After the exam, students, parents and experts shared their views on the paper.

Overall Difficulty Level: Moderate to Tough

According to most students and experts, NEET exam 2025 was moderate to tough. Compared to the NEET 2024 paper, this year’s exam had more tricky questions in Physics and lengthy calculations in Chemistry. Biology was mostly NCERT-based and scoring, but a few questions were unexpected. Many students said the paper was balanced, but required good time management and a strong understanding of the NCERT textbooks.

Subject-Wise Analysis

Biology (Botany and Zoology): Easy to Moderate

• Biology had 90 questions (45 from Botany and 45 from Zoology).

• Most questions were directly from the NCERT textbook, especially from Class 11 and 12 chapters. A few questions required deep conceptual knowledge but were manageable for well-prepared students.

• Topics like Human Physiology, Genetics, and Ecology had good weightage.

• Overall, Biology was the easiest section and high-scoring.

Chemistry: Moderate with Some Tricky Parts

• Chemistry had 45 questions, split between Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry.

• The Physical Chemistry questions were calculation-based and required more time. Organic Chemistry was mostly NCERT-based, with questions on name reactions and mechanisms.

• Inorganic Chemistry had factual questions, but some were confusing or required in-depth reading.

• Students found Chemistry moderate, with some questions needing extra attention.

Physics: Toughest Section

• Physics had 45 questions, and many students felt this was the most difficult section.

• Questions from topics like Mechanics, Electrodynamics, and Modern Physics were lengthy and required good calculation skills. Some numerical questions were time-consuming and involved tricky formulas.

• Compared to last year, Physics was more challenging and required strong problem-solving skills.

Student Reactions!

After the exam, students shared mixed feelings. Here are some common reactions:

• “Biology was easy and gave me confidence, but Physics was difficult,” said a student from Delhi.

• “Chemistry took a lot of time because of tough physical chemistry questions,” said another candidate from Mumbai.

• Many students felt that time management was a challenge due to long numerical questions in Physics and Chemistry. Coaching centers also confirmed that NCERT books played a big role, especially in Biology.

What's Next After NEET 2025?

• The NEET 2025 answer key is expected to be released by NTA in the second week of May 2025. Students will be able to challenge the answer key if they find any mistakes. 

• The NEET result will be declared on 14 June 2025 on the official website https://neet.nta.nic.in.
