Is NEET 2021 Cancelled? | Latest Update by HRD Minister | Reduced Syllabus

On 10 December students and their parents were glued to know the NEET 2021 latest update as the HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank was live on social media to do discussion with students regarding NEET exam 2021.

Update on NEET 2021 Cancellation

There was some news about NEET 2021 cancellation before this discussion, so the minister asked for some suggestions for NTA NEET. Lakhs of students were attending the live webinar to know the update over important upcoming exams like the CBSE board exam, JEE Mains, NEET and etc.

Answering a question asked by a student that the exam will be canceled or not this year, Minister said that the CBSE board exams are prescheduled and the board is keeping a close eye on the situation. Dates will be declared when it’s the right time. He also dropped a few hints that students be ready for online board exams. 

The Minister made so clear that there is no plan for NEET 2021 exam and JEE Main exam cancellation. He said, that the government and Exam authorities have no plans to cancel NEET Exam 2021 Yet and other competitive entrance exams as it will be a big loss for students and the nation. 

We postponed the NEET exam this year and offered a chance to students for changing their exam centers”. He added that the National Testing Agency conducts the NEET exam in offline mode every year but due to the pandemic, they are planning to conduct it in online mode.

Is the Exam Syllabus Reduced in 2021?

On cutting off the exam Syllabus, Pokhriyal said that schools in almost 17 states are open now but the attendance is low yet. Reducing exam syllabus plan is on the discussion table. He noted a suggestion to cut the syllabus up to 20% but there is no indication he made that he will do so.

“At the end of the Webinar, he said that all good suggestions and queries for NEET 2021 and JEE Mains exam have been noted and the latest update over exam will be delivered soon to students. They will get the proper time to prepare for the exam”.
