Every NEET-PG Related Update in The Last Few Days
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Post Graduate (NEET-PG) is finally being conducted after several issues and delays; dates and schedules for the same have been covered by us before.
However, the NEET PG exam in the last couple of days has seen a number of developments (mainly changes) in several domains. Said developments are important for the candidates to know so that they don’t face any hiccups in the Counseling process.
“Reset Button” in Round 1 Counseling
In a notice dated 15th January 2022, the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) came up with a notice highlighting the facility of a “Reset Button” for candidates registering for Round 1 counseling.
During the registration process, many candidates selected “OBC” while selecting the caste in the NBE Registration Form. However, it was only later that candidates were made aware of the fact that in the counseling by MCC of DGHS, only the Central List of OBC-NCL is followed. This means that many candidates filed themselves as OBC inadvertently and thus, seek to correct this mistake.
It’s for this reason that the facility of the “Reset Button” is being provided as a 1-time measure. Candidates can change their caste from SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD to UR for Round 1 and all the subsequent rounds ONLY ONCE. This window for the same closed at 11:00 AM on 17th January 2022.

There are many candidates this year who claimed a change in their nationality, from Indian/other to NRI during the NEET PG Counseling process (Round 1) 2021.
Therefore, the MCC released a notice on 15th January 2022, listing down a total of 482 candidates who have been provisionally converted from “Indian” to “NRI” for the NEET PG Counseling 2021. Said “conversion” was done after careful scrutiny of the documents sent to the MCC of DGHS by candidates.
Thus, it becomes important that the candidates present the said documents (original) while reporting to the seat. Failure to do so shall lead to the cancellation of admission. The details of the counseling process have been covered by us before.
MD, DNB Seats Withdrawn
In a notice dated 16th January 2022, the MCC of DGHS announced a withdrawal of seats from this year’s PG Medical admissions. A total of 42 seats have been withdrawn, including 2 from the MD course and 40 from the DNB.
